The quality and useful life of anti-corrosion painting is determined by several factors, pre-treatment and protection of treated surfaces against moisture are the most important factors. Surfaces that have been blasted are completely unprotected against corrosion and must not be subjected to excessive humidity or to the risk of condensation.

The rate of corrosion is high above a certain value of the relative humidity – the critical humidity. Below the critical humidity the corrosion rate is negligible. The critical humidity is about 60%, but it should not exceed 50% in practical situations.

In practice, it has been found that dehumidification is a crucial factor for anti-corrosion painting. The cost of dehumidification is only approximately 4% of the total treatment cost of corrosion preventive painting of a ship’s tanks. Moreover, de-humidification is often a pre-requisite for the correct execution of anti-corrosion painting. This is especially crucial in the painting of blasted surface of a ship’s tanks.

The ECO-FRIENDLY Air-Cooled Dehumidifiers are used for drying air of up to 95% relative humidity (RH) with temperatures from +15ºC to +40ºC. It is widely used in the area of Southeast Asia, South America with tropic and subtropic climate. The eco-friendly dehumidifier adopts r134a as refrigerant. Compared with r22 freon, r134a is no harmful to ozonosphere.

The applications are numerous and wide spread. Below are some examples:

- Surface treatment during internal blasting and painting of tanks

- Shipping industry, both for permanent and temporary applications

- Controlling humidity levels in production processes

- Protection of equipment sensitive to corrosion

- Climatic improvements in damp areas

ECO-FRIENDLY Air Cooled Dehumidifier is delivered as a complete unit with fans, filters, condenser, evaporator, compressor and controls. The dehumidifier is ready for site installation and connection to standard-size ducting. Each dehumidifier will be custom designed according to the local conditions and the needs of the customer. THE ECO-FRIENDLY AIR COOLED DEHUMIDIFIER ADOPTS R134A AS REFRIGERANT INSTEAD OF R22, which is of no harmful to ozone layers. It meets the environmental protection requirements from developed countries.
